The team at Home Entertainment Solutions had the pleasure of being engaged by our client during the construction stage of their home renovation, to design and build a home theatre from the ground up. The client was planning to sell the property so wanted a room that was budget friendly but also had the wow factor, and we think we’ve delivered an unparalleled entertainment experience that’s well within the aesthetic and budget requirements. 

The homeowners wanted a dedicated home theatre space that would serve as the ultimate entertainment hub for the prospective new family’s needs. They envisioned a room that was both luxurious and functional, yet conservative on budget. At the heart of the visual experience is the Epson TW9400 4K projector. Known for its incredible colour accuracy and deep blacks, this projector delivers crystal-clear images that make every movie feel like a cinematic masterpiece. Whether it’s the latest blockbuster or a classic film, the TW9400 ensures that every detail is brought to life in stunning 4K resolution.

Complementing the projector is a 140” ScreenPro acoustic screen, designed to provide a true-to-life viewing experience. The screen’s 16:9 aspect ratio is perfect for both movies and television, while its acoustic transparency allows for speakers to be positioned directly behind it, ensuring that sound is projected towards the audience without any distortion.

For audio, we installed a total of seven KEF Ci160.2CL in-wall speakers, with three at the front and four surround speakers, ensuring a fully immersive sound experience. These speakers are designed to deliver crisp, clear audio that fills the room, whether you’re listening to subtle dialogue or an action-packed soundtrack. To add depth to the audio, we installed a Proficient 15” subwoofer. This powerhouse delivers rich, booming bass that you can feel, making every explosion and musical note resonate through the room.

The Denon AVRX1800H AV receiver ties the audio system together, providing top-notch processing and amplification for all audio and video sources. It ensures that every sound is perfectly balanced and every visual is displayed with the utmost clarity. All equipment is housed in a custom AV rack, providing easy access for maintenance while keeping the room clutter-free. The rack is designed to accommodate future upgrades, ensuring that the system can evolve with new technologies.

To enhance the cinematic experience, the room was painted in Black Skynight, a low-sheen colour that minimizes light reflection and creates a true theatre ambiance. This choice of colour ensures that the focus remains on the screen, enhancing the overall viewing experience. Adding a touch of elegance and atmosphere, we installed a star light ceiling, which mimics the night sky, creating a magical ambiance in the room. Additionally, LED strip lighting was integrated into the design, allowing the prospective new homeowners to adjust the mood lighting to their preference, adding to the overall luxury of the space.

Comfort was also a top priority in this project, so we installed black plush carpeting throughout the room, providing a soft, luxurious feel underfoot. The room also features a raised timber platform, creating a tiered seating arrangement for optimal viewing angles from every seat. To complete the cinema experience, we installed black leather electronic recliners. These chairs offer the ultimate in comfort, allowing each viewer to adjust their seat to the perfect position with the touch of a button.

To ensure the best possible sound quality, we installed acoustic diffuser panels strategically around the room. These panels help to control sound reflections, ensuring that the audio is clear and precise, without any echoes or distortion. And the look? Just like an artwork!

Our team handled all electrical works, cabling, and labour required to bring this home theatre to life. We also provided thorough programming and calibration of the equipment to ensure everything was working perfectly. Finally, we offered customer training to ensure the homeowners could easily operate the new system and enjoy the full capabilities of their home theatre.
